Targeted at young children between the ages of 5 to 14 years old, Nippers is a fun and safe way to introduce the lifesavers of tomorrow to the ocean environment. With the beach as our classroom, your child will gain confidence with swimming, bodyboarding, beach sprints, learning how to detect and manage a rip and most importantly have fun with new friends.
Cooks Hill LS & SC has a long and proud history of Nippers. Our Surf Club is one of the largest Nipper community’s in NSW with close to 700 Nippers joining us from October to March of each year.
Parents please remember that Junior Nipper Activities does not teach your children swimming, but surf confidence!
How to Become a Nipper
Children aged Under 14 as at 1st October are eligible to join. In order to join, children must be five years old as of the 1st October.
Registrations usually open in August (otherwise we will advise of the dates) of each year and all renewing and new Nipper registrations are completed online through the SLS Members Portal Area.

Nippers registration for 25/26 season is now closed.
Nipper registrations will open after the AGM on the 1st Sunday of August and close on the 2nd Sunday of September each year.
It is a Cooks Hill SLSC policy that, one parent from each nipper family is a registered financial member of the club. (Associate/general or Nipper parent member at a minimum).
Registrations for Non-Nipper Members.
Active Patrolling (18 yrs +), Active (15 – 18 yrs), Associate, Cadet, Long Service, Past Active, Reserve Active and Life Members will be able to renew their memberships following the AGM on the 1st Sunday of August. Renewals are to be done through the SLSA Members Area.
