Cooks Hill LS & SC was established in 1911 and members have been proudly patrolling Newcastle’s Iconic Bar Beach since then. CH SL & SC is a proud and welcoming club of dedicated members that prides itself on high levels of training and patrolling.

We have a large and successful Nippers program with over 800 children participating each summer.

Cooks Hill patrols Bar Beach every Saturday, Sunday, and Public Holiday from the beginning of the October school holidays through to the end of April school holidays.

Cooks Hill is the centre of a strong community through activities such as Patrols, Nippers, Training, Surf Competitions, Surf Boats, IRB Racing, Gropers Winter Swimming. We are also extremely proud of our community outreach programmes, Same Waves, Refugee & Immigrant Beach Safety Program and our Wheelchair Beach Access Program.
